Dallas County needed two new government centers to service the populations of North Central Dallas County and South Dallas County, a previously underserved community of color.
For the North center, the county selected Serra to acquire the property from Brinker International which was vacating its former headquarters building.
Serra renovated the existing facilities under a 10-year lease where the tenant has a terminal purchase option. For the South center, the county selected Serra to initially develop and own only the government services building.
The engagement expanded to include the county emergency services command bunker and the county sheriff’s training academy. All three facilities are co-located on a 7.52 acre site.
